History

Established in the 30s, Kahler-Dolce Mortuary has been serving Papillion, neighboring communities and Sarpy County for over 80 years. Throughout the years, families have trusted us to provide exactly what they need and honor their loved ones with services that uniquely reflect their lives. Our communities have placed their confidence in us when it comes to honoring their loved ones' wishes.

The mortuary was founded in the 30s by Bill Claire and operated as the Claire Mortuary. In 1946, James and Louise Kahler purchased the business and changed the name to the Kahler Mortuary. In 1976, John and Mary Dolce bought the mortuary from the Kahlers and changed the name to Kahler-Dolce Mortuary. We continue to operate in our original location in downtown Papillion. We’re a proud member of the Dignity Memorial® network of funeral, cremation and cemetery service providers.

James Kahler began with a commitment to a high standard of service. Throughout our history, we have continued to lead and innovate while maintaining that high standard. Everyone at Kahler-Dolce Mortuary is proud to uphold this heritage and commitment to our community.
